The benefits of ORCID

I attended an ANDS webinar on ORCID today: Linking people to their research using ORCID. One of the speakers was Dr Laurel Haak, Executive Director of ORCID (USA).

ORCID "provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized."

ANDS have some info about ORCID on their website too.

Here is a similar presentation to today's ANDS one (which will probably go up on the ANDS site soon), from Laurek Haak, posted recently to SlideShare:

We're gonna need a bigger boat, presentation by Rebecca Parker

At the Research Forum in Brisbane recently Rebecca Parker of Swinburne University Library gave a presentation on open access. I wasn't able to make it but here are the slides. Thanks to Rebecca for sharing it :)
